1) Composition
The Website Committee shall be composed of the following positions:
Website Secretary
Webmaster
At least two members from B.E 1st Year
At least two members from B.E 2nd Year
2) Qualifications
Any member of MEA is eligible for getting a position in the Website
Committee subjected to his skills in website-designing.
For the position of Website Secretary the member should belong to B.E 3rd
Year/Final year.
For the position of Webmaster the member should belong to B.E 3rd Year/Final
year.
3) Duties
The Website Committee shall:
be responsible for regular update and development of MEA website.
be responsible for regular update and development of ME Department website.
collect materials and updates for uploading on the websites from students
and faculty members.
Section C: Publication Committee
1) Composition
The Publication Committee shall be composed of the following positions:
Publication Secretary
Editorial Board: At least one member each from B.E 2nd year/ 3rd Yea/Final
Year.
Article Collection Team: At least two members each from 1st year, 2nd year
and 3rd year B.E.
2) Qualifications
Any member of MEA is eligible for getting a position in the Publication
Committee.
For the position of Publication Secretary the member should belong to B.E
3rd Year/Final year.
For the position of Editor (s) the member should belong to B.E. 2nd Year/3rd
Year/Final year.
3) Duties
a) The Publication Committee shall:
be responsible for printing of MEA annual magazine.
be responsible for collecting articles from students as well as faculty
members of the department.
Section D: Activity Group
1) Composition
The Activity Group shall be composed of the following positions:
Secretary, Activity Group
At least three members from B.E 1st Year
At least three members from B.E 2nd Year
At least two members from B.E 3rd Year
2) Qualifications
Any member of MEA is eligible for getting a position in the Activity Group.
For the position of Secretary, Activity Group the member should belong to
B.E. 3rd Year/Final year.
3) Duties
a) The Activity Group shall:
be responsible for organizing Lectures/Talks/Workshops/Industrial
Trips/Seminars etc.
be responsible for printing department T-Shirts.
Section E: Sponsorship Committee
1) Composition
The Sponsor Committee shall be composed of the following positions:
Sponsor Secretary
At least two members from B.E. 1st Year
At least two members from B.E. 2nd Year
At least two from 3rd Year
2) Qualifications
Any member of MEA is eligible for getting a position in the Sponsor
Committee.
For the position of Sponsor Secretary the member should belong to B.E. 3rd
Year/Final year.
3) Duties
a) The Sponsor Committee shall:
be responsible for collecting funds for MEA Activities from students/faculty
members.
be responsible for collecting funds from sponsors from industries, academia
and vendors.
Article 5: OPERATIONS AND PROCEDURES
Section A: Election Procedures
a) The President of MEA shall be elected by the Faculty Advisor of MEA
from Final year (B.E.) students of ME dept.
b) The other members of the Executive Committee shall be elected by the
President of MEA by the advice of the faculty advisor.
c) The exact procedure of election/selection will be determined by the then
President and the Faculty Advisor.
d) All the election process should be completed by the second week of April
every year.
e) Once the Executive Committee is formed, the secretaries of different
committees shall be responsible to form their committee
by electing members
as per the eligibility criterion by the advice of the President.
Section B: Vacancies
a) An Executive Committee position shall be declared vacant by a meeting of
the Executive Committee when:
i) The qualifications for the position are no longer met.
ii) A written resignation is received by the President from said member.
iii) An impeachment removes the member.
b) The President will have the right to nominate a suitable person from the
existing members of MEA for the vacant position of the Executive Committee
by the advice of the faculty advisor of MEA.
c) The President will have the right to nominate a suitable person from the
existing members of MEA for the vacant position of the members of the
different committees of MEA by the advice of the respective secretaries.
d) If the President is found non-functioning or he gives a written
resignation then the faculty advisor of MEA shall be responsible for
electing new President from the B.E. final year batch.
Section C: Working Committee Meeting
The working committee meeting shall be held at least once every month. In
this meeting all the working members of MEA must be present.
This meeting will be chaired by the President.
Further meetings may be called on the approval of the Executive Committee.
The President must give one week notice for this meeting.
All motions, excluding constitutional amendments, presented at this meeting
must be approved by a simple majority of the votes cast to be passed.
Section D: Constitutional Amendments
a) Amendments to the constitution may only be made at the Executive
Committee meeting.
b) Any proposed amendment to the MEA Constitution must be submitted to the
President at least one week prior to the Executive Committee meeting.
c) The President shall post all proposed constitution amendments one week
after the Executive Committee meeting.
d) All constitutional amendments must be approved by two-third of the
members present at Executive Committee meeting.
Section E: Records
a) Copies of the minutes of all Executive Committee and Working Committee
meetings shall be compiled and bound by the Vice President.
b) Copies of all financial statements and a year-end financial breakdown of
all activities shall be compiled and bound by the Treasurer.
c) All aforementioned records shall be retained for a period of not less
than five years and shall be the responsibility of the President in office.
Article 7: ANNUAL ACTIVITIES OF MEA
MEA shall be involved in the following activities through the year:
Welcome of the new batch of students (Fresher welcome).
Timely updating web-site.
Printing of MEA T-shirt.
Printing of MEA magazine.
Maintaining contacts with alumni.
Holding lectures and workshops.
Helping students in getting summer training.
Organizing industrial visits and tours.
Farewell to the passing out batch.
